A resident of the north "saw"
a "saucer" and its occupants:
Two kinds of dwarf astronauts

Valenciennes, 12. -- A RESIDENT OF CAROUBLES [sic], NEAR VALENCIENNES, MR. MARIUS DEWILVE [sic], SAW A FLYING SAUCER LANDED ON THE GROUND AND ITS TWO OCCUPANTS.

WHAT'S MORE, HE HIMSELF WENT TO REPORT THIS STRANGE SIGHTING TO THE POLICE...

MR. DEWILVE, WHO IS A WORKER AT THE NORTHERN FRANCE WORKSHOPS IN BLANC-MISSERON, AND LIVES AT RAILROAD CROSSING NO. 79, STATED THAT ON FRIDAY EVENING AROUND 10 P.M., his attention was drawn by the barking of his dog.

He immediately went out, equipped with his flashlight, and saw on the railway line next to his home, in a particularly deserted area—which explained the animal's agitation—a dark mass of oval shape, about 6 meters long and 3 meters high.

Shining his light in another direction, Mr. Dewilve saw two strange, stocky men, no more than one meter tall, heading quickly toward the craft. These men had short heads on which the flashlight's beam reflected as if on glass globes.

A few moments later, a square of intense light appeared on the craft. The witness reportedly closed his eyes and, when he reopened them, the light and the strange beings had vanished.

The craft, swaying slightly, rose vertically while releasing smoke; once about ten meters off the ground, the lower part of the object turned red, and it quickly disappeared.

The Air Police went to the scene, but no traces of the saucer or its occupants were found.
