AFTER bringing us giant Martian women, now flying saucers are said to be carrying Lilliputians on reconnaissance patrols along our national roads.
This new variety of "interplanetary humans" is reported by Mr. Jean-Pierre Mitto, a technical agent, who claims to have seen, on Saturday evening around 8:30 p.m., the passengers of a saucer crossing National Road 631 at a place called "La Caiffe."
- Returning from Toulouse by car, I was driving at fairly high speed. Suddenly I made out, as did the two relatives accompanying me, two small figures, about the size of an 11- or 12-year-old child, crossing the road four or five meters ahead of the car. They leapt into the field. I stopped immediately. By the time I got out, we saw a large red craft about six meters in diameter take off vertically. It vanished into the sky within seconds.
NEAR CLAMECY (NIÈVRE) Messrs. Henri Gallois and Louis Vigneron, fairground workers traveling in a van, were stopped by a beam of light. Here are the statements of Mr. Gallois:
- I was driving in the middle of the road, not far from Clamecy, when I felt an electric shock. The engine stopped and the headlights went out. Suddenly, I saw in a field a large cylindrical craft. I clearly saw around this object three small beings who quickly ran away.
"The sighting lasted only a few seconds, but it was clear and no doubt is possible."
Mr. Vigneron confirmed Mr. Gallois's account.
NEAR EPINAC-LES-MINES Mr. Labonde, a restaurant owner, was driving when he saw a luminous craft about two meters in diameter, egg-shaped, 25 meters from him. Mr. Labonde wanted to be sure he was not the victim of an hallucination. He accelerated, then slowed down. The mysterious object kept following him just a few meters from his car. Suddenly, it disappeared.
According to an Iranian newspaper
TEHRAN. -- "Efelaat," Tehran's evening newspaper, published yesterday without comment the strange story of a flying saucer that reportedly landed in the Iranian capital.
According to the paper, one Gassim Faili stated that upon waking yesterday morning, he discovered the flying saucer parked in the middle of the street in a crowded neighborhood of southern Tehran. Emitting a magnetic force, the saucer tried to draw him aboard, but by shouting he alerted his neighbors, forcing the craft's pilot to take off.
According to Faili, the pilot was small, dressed in leather, and wore a mask resembling an elephant's head. The saucer, he said, "a white, luminous object about four meters in diameter, disappeared vertically into the sky in one second."
