They were, say the peasants who saw them disembark, 2.80 meters tall and looked like aluminum men (sic)
Visitors from another world landed on September 24 at 10 a.m., in a location in the Gardunha mountains, near the Spanish-Portuguese border; this was reported to the newspaper "Diario de Lisboa" by a Portuguese peasant who, along with three of his companions, was working in the area.
"A sphere appeared in the sky, to the east," the witness stated. "It was flying at dizzying speed and emitting multicolored flashes. It landed silently about 200 meters from us, and figures approximately 2.5 meters tall emerged. They looked like aluminum men. These visitors first picked herbs and collected stones, which they placed in a blindingly bright box. Then, noticing us, they came toward us and made some sounds."
"As we didn't understand, they gestured to invite us to enter their craft. When we refused, they went back into the machine, which took off vertically and disappeared southward as quickly as it had come."
The witness specified that only the "poles" of the sphere were rotating.
