At the time, Ms. Bignet lived in Ventenat. That day, in the company of a female neighbor who was now the owner of the Ventenat beverage shop, she was leading a sow in the village. It might have been 04:30 p.m..
Suddenly one of the women exclaimed, "Look at this!"
A luminous sphere the size of the full moon and like a globe of fire crossed the sky at high speed and at high altitude. Very quickly the "bolide" disappeared towards the SE.
We went to Ventenat to interrogate the second witness for confirmation. The cafe owner had forgotten the event but did not deny it. However, she told us that if it interested us, there was Mr. Aupetit de Chantegrue who had seen "Martians".
We "rushed" to Chantegrue.

A luminous sphere of the apparient [sic] size of the full Moon, like a globe of fire, crossed the sky at fast pace and at high altitude. It disappeared towards the S.E.
