In the 1970s, the ufology group GEPSI collected newspaper clippings about UFO sightings in Brittany, copying the stories without indicating the precise sources.
One of the observations was made at Locronan, in the Finistere, on October 21st, 1954, around 8:30 p.m, from the neighboring farmers of Mr. Goaer's neighbor, MM. Leroux (father and son) of Crinquellec and Hascoët de Lestraon, who saw a "flying saucer" in the form of a red ball that went towards Locronan, turning on and off alternately.
Messrs. Leroux and Hascoet saw this ball only a few moments. Then around 9 p.m., Mr. Queau de Lestraon had his bedroom lit by a sudden gleam of which he did not know the cause but that he attributed to some saucer.
I found that this was based on the newspaper Le Télégramme de Brest et de l'Ouest for October 23, 1954.

Quimper, the 22nd. -- A new area of Cornouaille has just emerged as a favored terrain for flying saucers. These latest testimonies should not be dismissed as a joke. The farmers from the hamlets of Grunquellic and Lestraon, in Guengat, are trustworthy observers, well known in their community, where they are held in general esteem.
The events took place on Thursday evening. Mr. Goaer, a farmer at Trinquille, was busy with various tasks in the courtyard of his farm. It was around 7:30 p.m. when he saw in the sky (the object was no more than 200 meters high) a green-colored object, with a red section at the rear. This object was glowing but did not emit light and was moving at high speed from Locronan toward Plonéis and the Bigouden area.
Mr. Goaer wanted to alert his family, but he did not have the time - the saucer, quickly obscured by a curtain of trees, had vanished.
Previously a skeptic, Mr. Goaer declared himself now convinced of the existence of saucers.
A little later, around 8:30 p.m., other farmers living near Mr. Goaer - Mr. Leroux (father and son) from Crinquellic, and Mr. Hascoët from Lestraon - witnessed similar phenomena.
This time, the saucer was traveling in the opposite direction (perhaps returning to its base!). It no longer had quite the same appearance: a red ball was heading this time toward Locronan, lighting up and going dark alternately (let us recall, on this note, that Mr. Le Viol and residents of Fouesnant recently reported the same phenomenon).
Mr. Leroux and Mr. Hascoët only saw this ball for a few moments.
Finally, around 9:00 p.m., Mr. Quéau, from Lestraon, had his room suddenly lit up by a flash of light, the cause of which he does not know, but which he attributes to a saucer.

A SECOND SAUCER
A little later, at about 08:30 P.M., other farmers, neighbors of Mr. Goaer, Messrs Leroux (father and son) of Crinquellec and Hascoët de Lestraon, were witnesses of similar phenomena.
This time, the saucer circulated in the opposite direction (probably regaining its base!). Besides, it did not have exactly the same aspect anymore: a red ball moved, this time, towards Locronan while igniting and dying out alternatively (let us recall on this subject, that Mr. Le Viol and residents of Fouesnant recently reported the same fact).
MISTERS Leroux and Hascoët saw this ball only a few moments. Finally, at about 9 p.m., Mr. Quéau of Lestraon, had his room lit by an suddent gleam whose cause he is not aware ofbut that he allots to some saucer.

Luc Chastan indicates that in the Finistère at Locronan on October 21, 1954, at 20:30 "An object is observed by a farmer. Then again around twenty hour thirty by three other people, but in the opposite direction compared to the first witness. It was a red ball which ignited intermittently. Towards 21:00 a resident of Lestraon had his room lit by a sudden gleam whose cause he is unaware of."

A meteor was seen by many people in the same area but at 07:15 - 07:30 p.m. Was that it, with an hour reporting error of 1 hour?
